Our Chair, Louise, shares Ecology’s ethos with textile industry leaders

Our subject matter experts and senior leaders represent Ecology at a range of professional and public events throughout the year, both regionally and nationally.
Earlier this month, Louise Pryor, our Chair, was a guest and speaker at the Masters’ and Clerks’ Dinner held by The Clothworkers’ Company in London.
Louise spoke about Ecology’s purpose, our impact-led lending on environmentally-sound homes, and the communities we support across the UK.
The Clothworkers’ Company is one of the ‘Great Twelve Livery Companies’ in the City of London. As a champion of the UK textile industry, including research and conservation, it retains connections to Ecology’s home county. West Yorkshire has a long heritage as a hub for textile production, with much of its historic prosperity earned through the wool trade in particular.
The remit of The Clothworkers’ Company includes charity governance, and philanthropy, through The Clothworkers’ Foundation, so dinner guests enjoyed hearing about Ecology’s activism and how the Society agitates for change in its sector and beyond, to create a fair society in a sustainable world.
