About the role

The successful candidate will provide a broad range of customer services to new and existing members. Working within our experienced and dedicated Savings Team you will experience our excellent customer service approach and will be provided with the opportunity to continually develop your own skills further, to enhance your career within the Society.

Main areas of responsibility
  • Answering account queries or service requests, either by telephone, online or by post, providing the highest level of customer service to our members
  • Maintain and develop strong customer service relationships with savings members
  • Administration of all new and existing customer savings account enquiries, account openings /closures and other routine activities
  • Processing the day-to-day banking/reconciliation of transactions through our online banking systems
  • Ensuring all activities follow agreed society policies and procedures
  • Develop an understanding of all appropriate savings Regulations and Legislation which directly impact savings administration activities, e.g. Money Laundering Regulations
  • Undertake appropriate training to develop personal knowledge and skills on the main savings activities
  • Ensure all savings activities are performed within the agreed customer service standards.
About you

You will have experience working in a customer service team, preferably in a financial services organisation, but not essential.

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with a passion and drive for delivering excellent customer service via our telephone and online service centre.

You will be dealing with substantial amounts of data daily so you will have strong attention to detail, be great with figures and be used to working with excel spreadsheets.

Qualification desired

  • GCSE English and Maths
  • NVQL2 or above in Business Administration or Customer Service or similar

About the role

To assist the Company Secretary in providing a full governance and company secretarial service to the Society. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of experience across a regulated financial services business with the opportunity to grow with the role.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting the Company Secretary to deliver first-class governance and company secretarial support, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations and that all board procedures and guidelines are followed.
  • Board and committee support – supporting the Chair in setting agendas for meetings, requesting and collating board/committee papers and issuing packs.
  • Attendance at meetings and taking minutes to a high quality and ensuring that the meeting operates within best practice guidelines.
  • Undertake quality assurance for board/committee materials.
  • Supporting the Company Secretary to deliver an annual calendar of company secretarial activity, including but not limited to preparing the annual Board and committee meeting schedule, conflicts of interest annual reviews, year-end director declarations; annual governance effectiveness reviews and the director skills matrix.
  • Supporting the company secretary to ensure that the Society maintains an appropriate governance framework including maintaining appropriate delegated authorities, Committee Terms of Reference and Matters Reserved for the Boards.
  • Supporting the requirements of the FCA/PRA Senior Managers and Certification Regime including applications, amendments, withdrawals and maintenance of the Management Responsibilities Map.
  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of the Annual General Meeting.

What you will be doing

It's fair to say no two days will be the same in this role and you will bring energy and flexibility in:

  • Providing EA professional services to the CEO and the Executive team.
  • Proactive day-to-day management of the CEO’s diary. Ensuring they have all relevant meeting information needed be it virtual or face to face.
  • Ensuring the CEO is informed, aware and prepared for upcoming commitments.

Main areas of responsibility
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a high-performing team with a focus on alignment to mission, high standards, quality, customer service, controls and change delivery.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all activity is conducted in accordance with the appropriate controls. Support delivery of the operational risk framework and embed a culture of risk management.
  • Articulating and assessing risk when lending decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Society’s reputation and mission.
  • Ensure policy, procedures and delivery supports customers in vulnerable circumstances and Consumer Duty.  Ensure the effective supervision of the Society Arrears and Possessions procedures in line with regulation.
  • Responsible as the Supervisor under the Society’s Training & Competence (T&C) Scheme for the maintenance, oversight and development of the scheme.
  • Providing focused training and coaching support through best practice whilst driving a “Right First Time” performance.
  • Conduct mortgage interviews for regulated residential mortgage applications, and the underwriting of residential mortgage applications and further advances, within policy limits.
  • Ensure all Financial Crime processes and procedures are adhered to in accordance with policy requirements.
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with key stakeholders, to champion or challenge policy and procedural changes.
  • Championing colleague engagement in the teams and the wider Society.

About the role

We understand the importance of data to the future growth of our business and we are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Engineer to join us in our mission to build a greener society. You will support the creation, reporting and interpretation of data across the business to enable delivery of key management information, modelling, regulatory returns and monitoring in pursuit of the Society’s mission and values.

Working within a small team of data specialists and reporting directly to the Data & Analytics Lead, this role will support the delivery of the Society’s data strategy. This is a role which requires deep technical understanding and experience of working with modern data architectures.

Main areas of responsibility
  • Maintaining, managing, optimising and troubleshooting the Society’s internal data warehousing capabilities including ETL, databases, integrations and automation
  • Translating business requirements into SQL-based datasets which drive modelling and reporting to support business operations and key decision making
  • Supporting the delivery of a modern data architecture to strengthen the Society’s future growth requirements
  • Providing accurate and timely data extracts to key stakeholders including audit partners, colleagues and regulators
  • Automation, monitoring and documentation of data flows
  • Identifying and escalating data control weaknesses which lead to inconsistencies or inaccuracies in underlying data
About you

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Specialist with a financial services background to join our team on a permanent basis.

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the ongoing development and implementation of the compliance framework including conduct risk controls.

Main areas of responsibility
  • Be the subject matter expert in compliance and conduct risk understanding the risks which the Ecology may be exposed to
  • Ensure the Society complies with current and emerging regulations and meets its regulatory obligations
  • Work closely with the business functions to understand their business area and their type of compliance exposure and to be proactive in promoting workable solutions, ensuring collaboration with the business areas to promote a compliance and conduct aware culture.
  • Provide compliance and conduct risk management expertise, advice and guidance to operational service delivery functions and specialist functions
  • Creation and maintenance of Compliance and Conduct Policies and Procedures
  • Be the subject matter expert for data protection and GDPR
  • Lead the Society’s regulatory horizon scanning and interpretation of new and amended legislative requirements
  • Support Regulatory liaison, managing requests for information, investigations, and breach reporting as appropriate
  • Identify material compliance and conduct risks, assess the effectiveness of control design, changes and ensure that any control gaps identified are managed until closed within a timely basis
  • Elevate, report, and investigate compliance errors, losses and near misses, identifying the root causes and overseeing the implementation of corrective actions
  • Production of insightful compliance and conduct MI for Senior Management and Governance Committees, highlighting relevant and key compliance issues and metrics adding quantitative/qualitative risk analysis
  • Act as governance for the Society’s Risk Committee
About you

You are an independent and critical thinker.

You have 3 years of experience in a financial institution with solid general knowledge /experience in compliance Management.
