How do I register for the online service?

Visit our website at www.ecology.co.uk and select ‘Log in to your account’ at the top right of the page.  This will open the welcome page.  Click on ‘Register’ and follow the online instructions. Once you have registered online, we will send you a letter containing your User ID and Activation Key. You can activate your registration by following the instructions within the letter. Please note that you must activate your registration within 21 days of receiving the letter. The letter will not contain your Password or Memorable Information, so please make sure you are able to remember these or keep them in a secure place.

Finance Analyst

  • Based in Silsden, West Yorkshire

About the role

The Finance Analyst plays an integral part in the production of management accounts, financial reporting and the daily management of the Society’s liquidity position.

The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the Society’s purchase ledger process, processing supplier payments and maintaining accurate records;
  • Support the Finance Manager in the production of monthly accounts;
    Reporting of variances against budgets and forecasts;
  • Daily bank reconciliations and the transfer of funds between bank accounts to meet savings and mortgage monies forecast demand;
  • Providing Back Office treasury support;
  • Support the Finance Manager in the ongoing assets and liabilities management;
  • Prepare and analyse liquidity management information including stress testing against Society models; and
  • Preparation and submission of regulatory returns.
About you

The ideal candidate will be highly numerate and capable of preparing and analysing complex financial data.   Attention to detail is imperative. Experienced of working in a regulated environment would be beneficial, preferably in the Financial Services sector.   AAT qualified (or studying towards) would be an advantage, however we will consider applications from candidates qualified by experience in a similar role.

  • Leading planning and delivery of compliance monitoring activities

Person specification

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a regulated environment, preferably in financial services, with good knowledge of PRA and FCA rules and guidance.

Professional certification in compliance is preferred though not essential.

Do I have to receive a paper notification in the post after every Interactive transaction?

We appreciate that many Interactive users would prefer not to receive transaction notices in the post. Not all of our members have access to the internet and many of these members, as well as some Interactive users, prefer to receive paper notifications. Unfortunately, our system currently doesn’t allow us to suspend paper notifications for some members but not others. In future we aim to offer this option and we will keep you informed of any changes to our service.

Can I pay money in to my account via Interactive?

You cannot pay funds in to your savings account through Interactive. To credit funds to your account, either send a cheque payable to Ecology Building Society re: (your name) or transfer funds to our bank account (sort code 08-90-72, account number 70361591) quoting your savings account number as a reference.
