This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to join a unique organisation that’s working to bring about positive change. The Compliance Officer will provide expertise to support the development of the Society and will embrace the challenges of a constantly evolving regulatory environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of activities for supporting the Compliance Manager in the successful delivery of the Society’s compliance function. The primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading planning and delivery of compliance monitoring activities
- Regulatory horizon scanning
- Provision of guidance, support and advice to the business on new and existing compliance requirements
- Leading or contributing to Society initiatives and developments to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
- Supporting the activities of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer
- Conducting due diligence of third party suppliers in respect of their data protection controls
Person specification
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a regulated environment, preferably in financial services, with good knowledge of PRA and FCA rules and guidance.
Professional certification in compliance is preferred though not essential.
You should be able to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Strong attention to detail
- An aptitude for learning and keeping up to date on industry rules, regulations and best practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
